Film Art

Film Art is a film series that opens at 7:00 pm every other Wednesday at the Waters Edge Cinema in Provincetown.

About the Series: Founded as the PAAM filmArt Series by John Ives, Howard Karren, and Joe Fiorello in 2005-06, it began as a program of “films about art and films as art” screened at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum galleries with folded chairs and followed by animated discussions. Over time the series grew in popularity, and in 2010 Howard Karren moved it to the Provincetown Film Society’s Waters Edge Cinema, where it is now ensconced. From November through May, the Film Art Series screens 15 films per season, co-presented by the Museum and the Film Society as a community service. The line-up of titles is curated by Howard, who introduces the films and leads a discussion afterward.

Season Passes offer a discounted rate for all, with a special discount for members of PAAM and/or Provincetown Film Society. Purchase your pass here.

Howard Karren, a former editor of Premiere Magazine, curates the series, introduces each film, and leads a discussion afterward. Every other Wednesday at Waters Edge Cinema, 237 Commercial Street, Provincetown.
