Provincetown 400 Exhibition

The Provincetown 400 exhibition is a collaborative venture between PAAM, the Provincetown Art Association & Museum, and PMPM, The Pilgrim Monument, and Provincetown Museum. The exhibition was originally scheduled to open this summer but because of the issues with COVID-19, the event was rescheduled for the fall. The show will now run from September to December of this year if everything goes as planned and the virus is sufficiently mitigated.

In honor of Provincetown 400, the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum (PMPM) and the Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM) have partnered to mount an exhibition that explores the themes connected to the quadricentennial commemoration: liberty, justice, and freedom of expression.

This show will run from September 18 – December 31, 2020, in the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum East Gallery. Access included with museum admission.

Open to members of both organizations. This show will be juried. There is no submission fee for this exhibition; however, membership must be up to date. Learn more about submission dates and guidelines here.

Jurors: PMPM and PAAM as well as 2 outside jurors.

Location: The Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum is located at 1 High Pole Hill Road, Provincetown, MA (508-487-1310, EXT 122).

Guidelines for Artists

Please submit work that explores the themes described above. All members in good standing are invited to submit to this juried exhibition. There is no size limit for this exhibition, work must arrive dry and equipped with a hanging device. All types of media are welcome. 1 submission per person. There is no submission fee for the Members’ Exhibition. The members submitting to this exhibition agree to PAAM and PMPM Member Exhibition Policies.

Drop-Off Day is May 18, 2020, starting at 11:00 AM at the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum. Early drop-offs are welcome the week prior to Drop-Off Day during PMPM Museum hours only (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM). Members shipping pieces should include a completed Artwork Receipt (please ship to Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum, ATTN: PMPM/PAAM Members Juried Show, 1 High Pole Hill Road, Provincetown, MA 02657) Membership must be valid through December 2020 and anyone is welcome to join or renew when dropping off work (Pick-Up Day for works not selected are Mondays-Fridays, 11 AM-4 PM starting May 26th).
