Likely to generate some heated discussion, Falmouth artist, Salley Mavor presents a satirical look at the Trump administration using her signature medium, small hand-stitched dolls. Known for most of her career as an illustrator of children’s books, Mavor, at the age of 60, decided to focus on what’s happening in the real world. The result is Liberty and Justice, a provocative look at today’s political environment. The exhibit features photographs of scenes Mavor created using dolls of President Trump, Mike Pence, and other political figures accompanied by a stop-action film. (The “twitter” bird plays a prominent role).

The show also includes some of Mavor’s original embroidered children’s book illustrations. It’s a fascinating artistic evolution from “innocence” to difficult real-world issues.

The event is finished.
